The magical Severn Bridge

The magical Severn Bridge
I am a big fan of riding in Wales. It is unfortunately often wet but it is beautiful, the roads are pretty good and there are lots of events organised there.

Some of my favourite events start from Chepstow at the bottom right ( south east ) of Wales. This is easy to get to from where I live. I usually stay overnight just on the other side of the Severn Bridge at the Travelodge.
Part of the fun of a Chepstow ride is going over the Bridge. There is a cycle path on either side of the Bridge. I always seem to use the one that’s on the RH side from the England direction. If the tide is out it seems muddy down there. If the tide is in it looks mysterious.

It’s wide and sometimes hazardous with strong cross winds. But it’s unlike cycling anywhere else I’ve been. After stumbling out of bed at the travelodge it’s a great little prequel to the main event
